Once the 3 year period is over, do not run to redeem all your investment at once. ELSS funds offer good returns over a long term so unless you have an investment plan offering better returns you can consider staying invested for further couple of years to maximize your returns. Since that ELSS funds are equity based financial instruments, they are more likely to offer you better returns over a long term period.

Hi Reba,

The choice is yours. You can choose to stay invested or you can sell your units. It is best to hold on to equity investments for the long term for the best returns. If you link such investments to your goals, it will be easier for you to decide whether to redeem them or stay invested.
