Why does car insurance premium varies on my geographical location? It’s different for Mumbai and other states.
Depending on the risk motorists face, India is divided into Zone A and Zone B. This is because cities in Zone A are more likely to affect the state of your car due to the condition of the roads. Zone A includes Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Pune. The rest of India falls under Zone B. However, the geographical location isn’t the only criteria since there isn’t a big enough difference between the two zones to affect premiums drastically.
