What is the importance of CVV card behind my debit card?
‘Card Verification Value’ or CVV is a three digit number behind your card. This is often used to secure some of your online transactions. Usually, your Debit Card CVV is not required for making online transactions or withdrawing money. So, you can continue to use your card even if the CVV gets erased. However, the grids at the back of the card will be needed for making online transactions. If your grids have faded and you can’t see the numbers, it might be better to opt for a new card. The CVV is more important for your Credit Card than your Debit Card.
You might have to get a new card if your CVV for your Credit Card has faded. Banks will not reissue CVVs. They are given once along with your card. If your CVV has faded, banks might consider the card to be damaged.
