New debit card

My debit card’s CVV number at the back has been erased due to wear and tear but the card is still
valid. Should I go in for a new card?

Usually if you are using net banking or using POS for your offline purchase, the cvv number is not essentially required. The number would be needed for online purchases you do though your debit card. You can simply apply for a new card with your bank. The bank may charge a nominal amount but issue you a new card almost instantly.

Hi Sooraj,

Usually, your Debit Card CVV is not required for making online transactions or withdrawing money. So, you can continue to use your card. However, the grids at the back of the card will be needed for making online transactions. If your grids have faded and you can’t see the numbers, it might be better to opt for a new card.
