TDS refund

I filed my ITR for the first time this year but my TDS is still not refunded. When can I get it?

Once the IT department verifies your ITR and match the details as per their records they will initiate a TDS refund if it is applicable. Depending on whether you have opted by an electronic transfer to your bank or a cheque mailed to you physically, you will get the funds once your ITR is processed. Check online on the It department’s website on the exact status of your TDS

Hi Dhyan,

You can now check the status of your TDS refund on the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) website. The status of all refunds including TDS and Tax Collected at Source (TCS) is uploaded online. You just have to enter your Permanent Account Number (PAN) and the assessment year for which the tax is due to track your TDS refund. Alternatively, the refunds paid by the Income Tax department is available in Form 26AS as part of your tax credit statements.
