I am planning to take up health insurance. Can you tell me what is meant by the term pre existing disease? Which diseases will be covered?
Pre-existing disease is a term in insurance that is used to refer to any current disease the potential policy owner has. In short it is any illness or disease that you already have. It could be diabetes, thyroid issues, high blood pressure etc. However, not all diseases are covered in Health Insurance. And the types of diseases covered will vary from insurer to insurer. We suggest you speak to your insurance agent in detail about your insurance plan before you take it.
